Welcome to MCC's Interim Blog
Our church is currently in a period of transition. Such a period can be a time when we experience many different things whether it concerns us as individuals or as a church family. Of course it is understandable for us to experience things like fear and anxiety about what lies ahead. But we also get to experience excitement and hope about what the Lord has in store for us next!
As we venture through this transitory phase in the life of our church, it is our Leadership's commitment to the congregation of MCC to do everything we can to communicate clearly and often about where we are in the process. Hence, this Interim Blog is one of the mediums we have decided to use to make good on that promise.
Should you ever have questions about the progress we are making, please take advantage of this blog below to find regular updates. As always, should you have any questions or concerns at any time, please reach out to your elder or our Associate Pastor Jason Leist. They would be most happy to answer any questions and concerns you may have.
Thank you MCC Family! We love you and are looking forward to how God will provide clarity, direction, and hope for MCC's future, as we continue to trust in His sovereign grace through this important interim period.
MCC family, the Session is pleased to present to you the following men as candidates to serve in the office of Elder and Deacon. We have examined these men after their receiving weeks of training over the last few months in areas of Christian experience, theology, Bible, church government and the sacraments. Please pray for these men and their families. Also, if you are a member of MCC, please make every effort to attend the congregational meeting scheduled for July 8th, at 6 pm where you will have the opportunity to vote and call these men to serve as Elder or Deacon at MCC!
Andy has been a Christian all of his adult life, having been baptized at the age of 7. He started attending a PCA church in high school and has been Presbyterian ever since. Andy has been married to his wife, Sarah, for 8 years and they have three children: James (6), Emma (4), and Paul (2). He and his family have been attending Murrysville Community Church since they moved to Pittsburgh in September 2014. Since then, Andy has enjoyed volunteering in the A/V, music, and Children's ministries. Last year he and his wife Sarah co-lead a LifeGroup with the Pastor Jason and his wife Sarah at their home in Washington Township (10 minutes north of MCC). Andy received his Bachelor's degree from Hampden-Sydney College and his PhD in Physical Inorganic Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis and he currently works as a research scientist and analytical team leader for PPG. Andy's favorite things to do are keeping up with his favorite baseball team, the Cardinals, reading, and playing the piano.
