Mission to the World (MTW) — GLOBAL
Our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), has a missions-sending agency, Mission to the World or MTW for short. One hundred percent of our supported missionaries have been approved for service and presently serve through MTW. We believe this is important for a variety of reasons. However, chief among them is the knowledge that our missionaries are as safe as possible, adequately supported, accountable, and striving to strengthen and establish churches true to the Scriptures.
Mission to the World (MTW) — IMPACT
Another great benefit of our denomination’s missions agency is the ability to send our members and youth on short-term trips each summer, like those listed above, through Impact, a short-term missions program.
And More!
Occasionally, some of our members and regular attendees sense God’s call to the mission field, but through a different organization. Individually, we do our best to support these efforts in prayer and other ways as privately requested.
We’re planning a week of ministry to and with the Cree of Northern Ontario. At the southern tip of the James Bay, is the island of Moose Factory — an island home to the "swampy" Cree. Accessible only by train from Cochrane to Moosonee, and then canoe "taxi" from Moosonee to Moose Factory, this trip lands participants on the edge of the arctic.
