Welcome to Murrysville Community Church!
I am so glad that you've taken the time to visit us online!
Murrysville Community Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. As her senior pastor, I have the remarkable privilege of shepherding a dynamic, warm, and dedicated congregation - one that loves God and those to whom He's called them, our neighbors. Should you visit sometime, I'm confident that you'll be blessed.
To that end, please know that we welcome all - those that know Christ, those simply curious about Him, even those whose past or present might make church a difficult reality to embrace.
Not too many years ago, I came to a more confident faith in Christ as my Savior. For years, I had called myself a Christian, but failed to understand the magnitude of God's grace. Deep down, I thought that I was saved by what I did, that God only loved me if I behaved. Every time I messed up, I thought that God would revoke His offer of salvation. Unfortunately for me, I messed up all the time! If my salvation depended on me, I'd surely go to hell.
Thankfully, someone shared the real message of Jesus Christ with me - the message that "it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this not of yourselves. It's the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9). In other words, we're saved by what God has irrevocably done for us in Christ, not by what we can do for God. Thankfully, what God starts in salvation, He'll see to completion (Philippians 1:6).
Of course, as a Christian, I now try to obey God more and more, each and every day. However, I do it as a loving reflection of what God is doing in my life, not as a means to His acceptance.
Are you trusting in Christ, but need a church home? Are you thinking about trusting in Him, but have questions to get answered first? Is there a past or present hurt that's a stumbling block to your faith? If any of these describe you, join us some Sunday. We'd consider it an honor to have you worship with us.
If, after reviewing this site, you have any questions about our ministry, please feel free to drop me an e-mail. I'd appreciate the chance to speak with you!
